Geographical Indication (GI)

Geographical Indication (GI)

Geographical Indication means an indication, for example, a name, geographical or figurative representation or any combination thereof, used to represent specific goods originating, produced, processed or manufactured in a specific geographical area or territory of a country, or a region or a locality in that territory, where a given quality, reputation or other characteristics of such goods are essentially attributable due to its geographical origin.

A Geographical Indication (GI) is a label for products tied to a specific location. This link guarantees certain qualities or a reputation linked to that place. Think of Parmesan cheese from Italy or Darjeeling tea from India. GIs protect consumers from imitations and producers from having their reputation exploited.

Our Process

Step by Step How We do it

01.

IPR Consultation

03.

Drafting and Filing

In this phase, we work to draft detailed descriptions, claims, and other essential documentation required by the relevant authorities for your rights. We ensure that all paperwork is accurately completed and submitted in compliance with the legal requirements to protect your rights.
